PUMPING STATIONS
Manor Farm – pump 3 top bearing sounding noisy. Ironside gearbox collected from Newbrook Engineering on 23rd Feb and re-fitted 26th Feb. Noise from lower down pump was evident when fitted so position will be monitored. P Nightingale replaced water tank and pipe work on small engines and new exhaust fitted on compressor at Underwoods.
New computer fitted to weedscreen panel at Beggars Bridge. Casseron granules applied to all sites where gravel laid.
Mr Styles of Vulcan inspected lifting gear and found damage at Beggars Bridge (must be replaced within two months), Wype pivot pin bolt sheared, Underwoods pivot pin sheared, Glassmoor Bank slack rope switch, Conquest Lode slack rope arm sticking. Mr Page inspected air bottles.
New thread and nut fitted at Wype inlet. All fire extinguishers serviced on 25th April.
DRAINWORKS /OTHER COMMENTS
During February level were lowered and raised where necessary to assist with filing of reservoirs. The autumn drainworks programme was planned and farmers were seen.
In March water levels were raised.
On 18th & 19th April level lowered at Beggars Bridge to allow for stone revetment work at Kingsland Farm.
Section along Bradley’s roadway at Kings Delph Gate Farm was cleansed of weed. With assistance of Owen Tabbitt the leak on the water control at Marriotts Drove was sealed with clay. Similar work was undertaken to the Black Hut water control at Yaxley.
Contractors were shown the problems with Great Drove Yaxley.
